Quick Start

Get your API key, see which domains it reads, and pull your first report in three steps. API access is included with the Business plan.

Prerequisites

An AEO Content account on the Business plan (Business or Business Plus): API access is included from Business up
An API key (every endpoint needs only the read permission)

Step 1: Get Your API Key

Go to studio.aeocontent.ai and navigate to API Keys
Click Create API Key (requires SMS verification for security)
Your key will follow the format: aeo_live_ + 32 hex characters
Store the key securely - the full key is only shown once at creation

Never expose your API key in client-side code. Use environment variables and server-side requests only.

Step 2: See Which Domains Your Key Reads

A key reads the domains on the Business plan or higher that your account owns or is a member of. When it reads exactly one, the report endpoints may leave out the domain.

Step 3: Pull Your First Report

The Business Impact report has the same numbers as the Business Impact page in Studio: clicks from Google, visits from AI answers, leads and calls to action, for the last 28 days and the 28 before them.

null means not measured for this window, never zero. Figures under site count every visitor; totals come from Google Analytics, a consent sample. The API reference has every endpoint and field.
